In Summer of 2024, I worked at ArtsConnect in Springfield Township, Ohio. I was there as a counselor for their summer camp program, educating students ages 9-13 with a differing theme each week!
During most weeks, I was engaged in helping organize the entire space, as well as assisting in the facilitation of lesson plans that really engaged the campers! I was also given the agency to create the lesson plans for an entire week of camp (the game(s) week). I made examples, and let the students really shine when they created their own board/card games!

We inspired the campers to learn more about the cultures and world around them! The other counselors and I brought in guests for some of the weeks, such as the musician Rocky Peter -- who was seen on American Idol!
Through learning about world cultures, the environment, science, and history -- and providing campers with the tools to express these ideas artistically -- I helped them grow. This was alongside my very interpersonal method of teaching and counseling, wherein I sat with students and had meaningful conversations with them for their behaviors and emotions.
