Hermanphrodite is a play on the quizzical nature of Hermanubis, Hermaphroditus, and Anthro(pomorphization). In it, I take 3D models of pre-existing statues (Hermanubis and Satyr and a Hermaphrodite, provided by Scan The World) and reinforced the idea of the relationship between these two statues.
It also explores the relationship between myself, my body, and identity as a whole. It's the paradox of human nature, presented in a clean and graphical format, assisted by the 3D renders I crafted in Blender.
The project was, really, my first exploration of Blender as a software, and I loved creating strange and mysterious explorations of the models through texturing and lighting, inviting both realism and falseness to bodily forms.
There's a certain playfulness to these vibrant, colorful forms. A playfulness intertwined with allegory and interesting connections.
